464 Gallery in Buffalo, NY is presenting “Off the Wall,” a solo exhibition of new works by Laura Borneman (MFAST ’14.) Borneman’s two dimensional and three dimensional forms explore invented structures and scenes that are not literal, but are expressive of states of mind, imagination and fantasy. A reception will be held October 16th from 6-10 p.m. The exhibition is on view through October 27th. For more information, visit 464 Gallery.
The Davis Library at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is presenting two exhibitions of photography by MFAST alumnus Christopher Sims (’08.) Guantánamo Bay and The Library at Camp Delta depict Sims’ experiences at these rarely seen built environments that the Washington Post called “an important visual chronicle… [shot] with a dispassionate eye.” For more information, visit the blog for Davis Library.
