Brossman Gallery at York College of Pennsylvania is hosting “The Lettering Office,” a solo exhibition of works by faculty member Melanie Rodgers (MFAST ‘02.) In this exhibition, Rodgers explores how the graphic design form can be used to convey a personal narrative, and how this content is interpreted by the viewer. This selection of paintings, publications, and objects is also an investigation into the mechanics and aesthetics of the hand-lettered form.
“The Lettering Office” will be on view from August 24 through September 19, 2015. A reception will be held on September 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall lobby, preceded by Rodgers’ lecture, “Stop Learning New Things,” at 5:30 p.m. in DeMeester Recital Hall.
