Ashley Lohr (MFAST ’15) in a solo show at Anchorage Museum

“Perceptions: Ashley Lohr,” a solo exhibition of Lohr’s paintings, will open this week and be on view until March 1, 2015 at the Anchorage Museum in Alaska. In her paintings, Lohr explores interior spaces and structures, highlighting the effects of light and color on surfaces.  Each painting suggests more than one space inhabiting the frame, an intentional disruption that leaves the viewer finding something unexpected in her crops, skews and stretched perspectives.

Based in Petersburg, Alaska, Ashley Lohr is originally from Southern New Jersey and studied painting and drawing in Albany, New York before moving to Alaska. Lohr will be completing her MFA degree in the summer of 2015.
