MFAST alumna Emily Harris featured in a collaborative exhibition in Brooklyn

Emily Harris (MFAST ’13) is showing her work in “Resonant Traces,” on view through November 26th at Union Street Studio in Brooklyn, New York. In this collaborative project, Emily Harris and Jonathan Zorn examine the sonic characteristics of their multi-use space while asking: How is space relayed by sounds alone? What information and relationships become necessary? And, how might a recording capture and fail at capturing the improvisational quality of the process? Harris and Zorn will frame their exploration by generating scores for a series of performances that focus on the acoustic properties in the building.

The installation will feature recordings of the performances along with a collection of scores and resultant drawings used to activate the space.
