MFAST alumna Erin Barach will show her work alongside 7 other artists at RePop Gallery in New York this week. “Artifact,” curated by Studio 200, will open Friday, October 10th from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
This exhibition will consider interpersonal relationships with objects, which streamline notions of past, present, and future. The very nature of artifact is presently shifting as a product of our increasingly technological age. Virtual space, lacking in tangibility, is now a storage space for mass quantities of information. This information is in the form of systematic coding, which has evolved from tangible to abstract, now living in cyberspace. The artists in this exhibition shed light on the present-day role of artifacts.
