Natalia Gonzalez, MFAST Class of 2011, currently has work on view in a group exhibition entitled Drawing/Weaving at the Centro Cultural de Espana located in La Paz, Bolivia. The work she installed is titled Desplazamientos (Movements). It is a drawing in three forms: a video performance, a sound installation, and a graphic score. The works chosen for the exhibition were selected through a juried application. Drawing/Weaving will travel and be shown in Cochabamba and Santa Cruz later this year.
Gonzalez was also awarded a solo exhibition at the Centro Cultural de Espana, which will be on view in 2015. This past March, Gonzalez exhibited at the Centro Cultural Simón I. Patiño in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The group show, ¿Mar para Bolivia? (Sea for Bolivia?), included video works from both Bolivian and Chilean artists about people who are yearning for their lost coastline. Below are stills from her video, Recuperemos Nuestro Mar (Recovering Our Sea), as well as images from her current exhibition Drawing/Weaving.
